Akrivakis Ioannis

Ioannis Akrivakis was born in Athens in 1972.

He studied Psychology at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. He received a Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling from the University of Hull and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the City University in London, Great Britain. He completed a five years’ training program at the Hellenic Institute of Group Analysis and Family Therapy. He continues his psychoanalytic training at the Hellenic Society of Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

He has worked as a member of the Counseling Service of the University of Surrey of Roehampton, the Sanibel Counseling Centre and the Counseling Centre of Islington in London. He has been a staff psychologist in the Drug Detoxicational Unit “18 ANO” of Psychiatric Hospital of Athens since 2002. He has been working privately as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with individuals, couples and groups since 2006.

He is a member of the Association of Greek Psychologists, of the British Psychological Society and of the Greek Association of Hospital Psychologists. He is a trainee member of the Hellenic Society of Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.

He is a founding member of the Hellenic Society of Psychoanalytic Group Psychotherapy.
